Live Shows in the Washington DC region!!
  • Coming November 12, 2004 to The Black Cat is David Bazan and his band Pedro The Lion with very special guests, Starflyer 59. PTL will be nothing short of excellent and bring a question for Mr. Bazan who is noted to discuss faith, geopolitics and other topical asundries with his audience. SF 59 is the longest running band on Tooth N Nail Records and are currently finishing up the follow-up to their EP, I Am the Portugeses Blues. Jason Martin, Jeff Cloud and Frank Lenz are all veterans of the "Seattle to So Cal" scene. Each member has more band credits to their names then the average bass player at an open mic.
  • Monday, November 15 to The 930 Club is Further Seems Forever and Copeland opening up for some band named Sparta. As you can see, I have no idea about that band. FSF has a new record out called Hide Nothing which is a great studio effort and features some of the coolest artwork in a jewel case.
  • Wednesday, November 24 to The Black Cat is Sufjan Stevens. Stevens songwriting is pre-eminent in the indie scene and his label, Asthmatic Kitty represents the forerunners of harmonious acoustic avant garde pop. Stevens has an ambitious goal to write an album for every state in the union. His first, Say Yes To Michigan is a startling and powerful look at life into small communities of the northern midwest. Influences from the early Beach Boys' Pet Sounds to country folk are evident with choice instrumentations of Cello, Banjo, Zithers, Xylophones and other things like a good jug band might have lying around. However, the depth of the songs makes for more than just a good time had by all. The hootenany starts at 8 PM.
The Rock N Roll Worship Circus has recently been through the changes that usually kill off any band. Gabe's wife, Blurr came off the road and was replaced by Josiah. Zurn left for family and Eeee! took the traps. Gabe is holding down the front with Solo back. Playing 250 shows a year with a new drummer, a keyboardist and the return of Solo has been exciting. The original Circus members never thought of them being the only ones. Their name implies that all their fans are members too. God is the ringleader and they just bring their instruments and stuff to the show and play along with what He is doing. Their new EP, The Listening, speaks to the world on a level not found too often. Checkout the Worship Circus. Buy this EP - it is worth every penny...

$12 PPD

A new record label. This project is going to take some faith. However, Faith is made a lot easier by our first release by the band, Fell Desire. The new CD is called LOVE. It is a 14 song sonic sonnet about LOVE. Experiences and observations put to music that are indie, progressive, gothic and heartfelt all at once. The writings of songwriter, Joe Albanese are nothing short of bluesy spiritual outpourings of angst yet prayerful bewilderment to absolute grace filled discovery of LOVE. The CD was released on April 1, 2004 and is doing well. You can buy it here today!

"I love this cd. Its about everything that people go through everyday. It's good songwriting like Bob Dylan meets Beck. If you buy just one cd this year make it Norah Jones but if you buy two get Fell D's, Love" - CD BABY Review
